My stay at the Mandela Rhodes Place Hotel had its highs and lows. The room was fantastic and well-equipped, but I had major issues with the Wi-Fi and an unsettling experience with theft. Overall, while the hotel offers a great location and good service, some significant issues need addressing. 😟

I stayed in a beautifully furnished two-bedroom suite with a view of Table Mountain. It was absolutely fantastic, featuring a fully equipped kitchen and even a washing machine.
Service

The staff were generally friendly and helpful. One staff member even assisted me in getting an Uber to Longmarket Street.

The hotel's location in the center of Cape Town was perfect for exploring the city, with plenty of bars and restaurants around. However, parking was an additional expense.
Dining

The breakfast was just okay and below average, lacking in quality and good coffee. I expected better options.
Facilities

While the hotel had generally good facilities, I was disappointed that the pool and gym were no longer available.

I had an enjoyable stay at Mandela Rhodes Place for eleven nights. The room was more like a mini-apartment, equipped with a good kitchen and comfortable living space. However, I missed the presence of kitchen essentials for self-catering. Despite minor housekeeping concerns and a slightly unwelcoming lobby, the excellent location and attentive staff made my experience favorable.

My room was a spacious mini-apartment with a great view of Table Mountain. I appreciated the strong Wi-Fi and comfortable bed. However, the kitchen was under-equipped for serious self-catering.
Service

The staff really shone during my visit, particularly Wendy at the front desk who expedited my room check-in. They were friendly, helpful, and very attentive to my needs during my stay.
Location

The hotel's location was perfect for me, as it was central and within walking distance to various attractions, cafes, and the City Sightseeing hop-on hop-off bus.
Dining

Breakfast did not meet my expectations for a 4-star hotel, and I felt there were some limitations in the dining options, especially given my preference for self-catering.
Facilities
8.0
The hotel has a good fitness facility next door, and while I didn't use the pool, it looked inviting. Still, I think a few more toiletries and kitchen items would enhance the overall experience.

I had a mixed experience at Mandela Rhodes Place Hotel. The accommodation was spacious and well-furnished, perfectly located near vibrant eateries. However, the lack of air conditioning and some noise from the lobby during check-in detracted from my comfort. Overall, there's potential for a great stay if these issues are addressed. 😊

The studio room was clean and spacious, featuring a nice little balcony. However, I was disappointed to find that it didn't have air conditioning, which I expected.
Service

While the staff at reception greeted me warmly, the welcome experience felt rushed and somewhat disorganized. I did appreciate their friendliness overall.

The location was fantastic, right next to Long Street with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. It also offered a short taxi ride to the V & A Waterfront and Camps Bay, which was a big plus.

I enjoyed breakfast in the MINT Restaurant, where the food was absolutely fantastic. Doppio Zero also offered high-quality dishes that were superb.

My stay at the Mandela Rhodes Place Hotel was quite a mixed bag. While the location was fantastic and the staff friendly, the overall condition of the hotel and amenities left much to be desired.
Rooms

I stayed in a one-bedroom apartment that was spacious but definitely in need of modernization. The furniture looked old, and the apartment itself lacked the luxury I expected. The bathroom had some cleanliness issues, and I encountered problems with the safe and room keys regularly.
Service
5.0
The staff were generally friendly but not very helpful. For instance, when I faced a room key issue or needed assistance, their responses felt inadequate, like merely suggesting I take an Uber for directions.
Location

The location is truly excellent, right in the heart of the City Bowl, making it easy to walk to major attractions like the Company's Garden and the vibrant restaurant scene on Long and Bree Streets.
Dining

While there were some dining options nearby, I was disappointed that the previous buffet breakfast option was no longer available. I had to settle for an à la carte breakfast instead.
Facilities

The facilities were lacking. The pool was uninviting with limited loungers, and other promised amenities seemed to have disappeared. The Wi-Fi was also a significant issue throughout my stay.

My stay at Mandela Rhodes Place Hotel was absolutely fantastic. The spacious two-bedroom apartment was perfect for my needs, complete with a clean kitchen and great amenities. The location couldn't be better, close to all the main attractions and some very nice restaurants. However, the coffee at breakfast was not up to par. Overall, it was a nice experience that I would highly recommend.
